Online Training
Microsoft offers free online training. Both on its own products
and general information such as What is XML.
Microsoft training uses some multimedia to make the experience
as easy as possible. Training is available for most of their
products plus some general courses for everyone. All in all they
offer over 150 courses, each course is rated from 1 to 5 stars
by participants. Most end up with a rating of 4 stars which is
pretty good.
Most courses are divided into Lessons.
I tried several of these and in spite of my many years of
computer experience, learned something new in every one of them
I tried.
Quick links appear in the table below:

I signed up and was very impressed by the quality of the content
and references as well as the prompt response of the instructor
to questions posted in the forums.
I enjoyed the "no pressure" and "self paced" course so much that
I just signed up for another one (Introduction to XML).
If you want more comprehensive and yes, free, training in both
